On June 14, 2025, The Canadian Helpers Society hosted a powerful and informative session focused on managing financial stress, particularly among older adults. This workshop was led by clinical psychologist Salomeh Safai and money coach Lauren Ann, and was supported by the New Horizons for Seniors Program under the Government of Canada.
The session covered the emotional and physical impacts of financial anxiety, shared practical tools like budgeting and mindfulness techniques, and provided strategies to support senior financial well-being. Despite early technical difficulties, the group engaged in rich discussions and ended with a calming guided meditation.
Participants left with actionable steps, including creating a simple budget, exploring local resources, and being mindful of whom they consult for financial advice.

Most of the participants were in the program at the announced time wearing their local clothes along with their family members, children, or pets.
At the beginning of the program, the official anthem of Canada was played. After the participants introduced themselves, one of the immigrants, who was Indian, played the national anthem of his country and explained its meaning.
